Course Overview

Our PACE training supports professionals to develop trauma‑informed, relationship‑based practice when working with children and young people who have experienced attachment disruption or developmental trauma. The course focuses on how we communicate, respond, and build safe relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and statutory responsibilities.

This training is practice‑focused and is not therapeutic. It equips staff with practical tools they can use confidently in everyday interactions.

Learning Outcomes

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles of the PACE model
  • Recognise trauma‑based behaviour as communication
  • Apply PACE to reduce conflict and escalation
  • Communicate more effectively during challenging situations
  • Maintain authority, boundaries, and safeguarding responsibilities

Certification

Participants receive a PACE: Trauma‑Informed Practice in Children’s Services certificate, valid for 12–24 months.
